This Department, established in 1986 was the first in the region of North Karnataka and has achieved a high rate of success. The Department deals with design and optimal use of instruments to quantify various parameters which characterize a physical system or process, encompassing all the disciplines in science, engineering and technology.
The advanced subjects offered are, Bio-Medical Instrumentation, Laser Instrumentation, Virtual Instrumentation, PC Based Process Control, Product Design Technology, Transducer Design, Analytical Instrumentation, Remote Sensing and Telemetry and Embedded Systems. |
With the assistance of grants from MHRD/AICTE, the Department has a planned infrastructure that includes PC Based process control, PCB, Bio-Medical Instrumentation, Bio-Sensor, Data acquisition, Virtual Instrumentation, Analytical Instrumentation and Laser Instrumentation. |
Yet another notable feature of this Department is the highly professional and dedicated faculty that encourages students to interact with the Industry on real-time problems. An active association (AIES) ensures that students get the best of co-curricular and extra curricular activities. The Department’s alumni have the privilege of being employed by high-profile institutions all over the world. These include ISRO, DRDO, Honeywell, Infosys, ABB, NAL, HAL, Texas Instruments, Bluestar etc. |
