Established in 1986 to meet the growing demand for professionals in the automotive industry, this Department is led by a dynamic team with PG qualifications in Aerospace Engines, IC Engines, Energy Systems Engineering, Production Management and Design who impart state–of–the-art technological education relevant to the industry. Among other facilities, the Department has a range of

service station equipment such as computerized Engine Analyzer, Wheel Balancing Machine, Computerized Wheel Aligner, Exhaust Gas Analyzer, reconditioning machinery and advanced equipments like computerized I.C. Engine Test Rig and Two-wheeler Chassis Dynamometer for engine and vehicle testing.
An elaborate CAD Engineering Laboratory has all the necessary hardware and software for design and analysis. The Department is the first to enter into an MOU with an Auto Service Provider to facilitate student orientation on a regular basis. A collegiate club (SAE-BVB) has been established, which serves as a wing of the international body that promotes student participation in the Automotive industry.
