Governance

 

  • Members of the board and their brief background Members of Academic Advisory Body.

    Central steering committee comprising of all the heads of the departments and cell coordinators acts as the academic advisory body.

    Frequency of the Board Meeting and Academic Advisory Body.
    Local Governing Council twice a year. Central Steering Committee meets twice a month.
  • Organizational chart and processes Nature and extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs / improvements.

    To address the academic affairs/ improvements institute has constituted a cell named Academic Monitoring and Evaluation Cell (AMEC), which will set procedures for monitoring of Teaching-Learning process and work on improvements by reciprocating between PDSA and PDCA cycles. It will also monitor staff performance through student feedback. Review of IA results and University results are also its other responsibilities. To facilitate Co-curricular activities provision of budget is in place for both faculty/ students. Departments have been empowered to take decision to conduct workshops/ seminars/ conferences. Students and faculty are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities through sections/collegiate clubs of professional bodies. To meet the industry requirements institute runs in-house value addition training (VAT) programs. To promote academic excellence institutes encourages its faculty to take up higher education through QIP as well as in house research programmes.

    To ensure continuous improvement in academic delivery Formative and Summative Feedback Mechanisms from students is in place.

    Mechanism/Norms and procedure for democratic / good governance

    The institute has adopted cell/committee structures to promote teamwork, establish system ownership with a total focus on customer value. It is hoped that this approach will iron out hierarchy aches and establish horizontal linkages allowing each and every member of the BVB family to work towards the cherished goals of the institution. In order to ensure continuous improvement in what we do we have in place institutional feedback mechanism which will be collected once a year by a sample of 25% of total student population in college.

    To improve the organizational effectiveness the institute has adopted a Quality Management System (QMS) in 2002 and was awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification by BVQI in Jan 2004.

  • Student feedback on Institutional Governance / Faculty Performance

  • Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students

    Even though institute do not have a formal grievance cell the grievances of faculty, staff & students are being addressed through feedback mechanism and counseling. Heads of the department are empowered to take necessary actions in case of minor issues however major issues will be referred to the Central Steering Committee (CSC), which after deliberations usually forms a sub-committee to look into the matter and suggest suitable solutions. Finally policy decisions are taken by the CSC.
